Don't Do Drugs In Laurens County
Sheriff Ricky Chastain's commitment to the battle against drugs is unparalleled. He and his office has made over 2,800 drug cases since he took over the helm in 2001. Sheriff Chastain has also led the state in the number of meth labs his agency has been able to locate and destroy. He has five deputies on staff that are certified as clandestine lab technicians. These officers oversee meth lab clean ups in Laurens County and often assist neighboring agencies in their efforts.

An anonymous donation of $10,000.00 has also allowed for an increase in the Sheriff's arsenal against illegal drugs. The contribution was used to purchase a drug dog and pay for its training as well as that of the handler.
Sheriff Chastain has lived up to his commitment to be tough on drugs when he was elected to the Office of the Sheriff. He and his staff has made over 2,800 drug cases, dismantled over 200 meth labs, and seized 49 vehicles and over $300,000 in cash connected to the illegal drug trade.
